To continue to receive the debit card and ATM overdraft services you currently have, we need to hear from you.

We want to protect you from the embarrassment and inconvenience of a declined point of sale debit card or ATM transaction. Don’t get caught in a difficult situation! You could be at a gas station late at night or paying the bill at a restaurant, and your debit card could be declined if you did not have enough money in your account. These charges could be covered with First Federal’s Courtesy Overdraft Program.

As of August 15th, we can no longer provide our Courtesy Overdraft service for debit and ATM cards without your permission. Courtesy Overdraft is a service we provide which allows us to cover debit card purchases or ATM withdrawals for you when a transaction is more than your balance.

If you want us to authorize and pay overdrafts on ATM and everyday debit card transactions: You can call Customer Service at 386-754-0090 or 386-362-7990, visit your local branch or click on the “Opt-In Now” button on the right to sign up today!

How does our Courtesy Overdraft Program work?

As a courtesy to our customers, we may pay your overdraft instead of returning your check or declining your transaction.

We may authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions:

  • Checks and other transactions made using your checking account number
  • Automatic bill payments

After August 15, 2010 we will not authorize and pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions unless you opt-in:

  • ATM withdrawals
  • Everyday debit card transactions

We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction. If we do not authorize your transaction, it will be declined.

The Courtesy Overdraft Program is free; there are no fees for opting-in. Although the following fees apply when we pay an overdraft for you:

  • We will charge you a Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) fee of up to $33 ($36 Free Personal) each time we pay an overdraft.
  • We will charge an additional $6 per business day your account is overdrawn.
  • There is no limit on the total fees we can charge you for overdrawing your account.
