How to Build your Brand on Social Media

Have you been using social media to build your brand? At its simplest, a brand is a set of ideas and feelings about a product or company. You can think of it as sort of a virtual business card that helps people remember your business.

If you’re just getting started or looking to up your social media game, there a few things to remember.

Consistency is key. Whatever social platform you’re posting on, your brand should look and sound the same. This can be as simple as what logo or colors you’re using, or as complicated as the tone of your posts or your word choices. The goal is for your viewers to recognize you without having to see your logo.

Keep your audience in mind. Different sites tend to attract different audiences, so you’ll want to adjust your posts accordingly.

Share regularly. You can use a social media manager to schedule posts across multiple sites.

If you’re struggling to come up with ideas of what to post, learn from other brands. Find a brand you admire, study their posts, and see what you can learn to apply to your own posts.

Measure your impact. Which posts are being liked/shared? Which videos are being watched? Finetune your posts based on what you learn.

Don’t be afraid to interact with your followers. Just remember to keep your voice consistent and your interactions positive.

And finally, be patient—it will take time to build your brand, but it will be worth it.
